1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using EssayCoach AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

EssayCoach AI provides AI-powered writing coaching, a community Arena for sharing essays, writing challenges, and gamification features designed for Australian students in Years 3–12. The Service is operated by EssayCoach AI (ABN: TBA), based in Australia.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Users under 13 must have verifiable parental consent.
  • One account per person. Do not share accounts.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Post content that is offensive, harmful, or inappropriate for a young audience.
  • Harass, bully, or abuse other users.
  • Submit essays written entirely by AI without any original contribution.
  • Attempt to circumvent credits, payments, or platform restrictions.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy the Service's content or code.

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the essays and content you create. By publishing to the Arena, you grant EssayCoach AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and share your content on the platform. You can delete or make your essays private at any time.

6. AI-Generated Feedback

AI feedback is provided for educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional tutoring or formal assessment. Scores and suggestions may not perfectly reflect official exam marking standards.

7. Credits and Payments

AI Credits are consumed when you request grading. Free accounts receive a monthly credit allowance. Purchased credits and subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Points earned in the Arena are virtual and have no monetary value.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, EssayCoach AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the last 12 months.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
